Directions

  1. Cold Brew the Green Tea
Add the green tea bags to the cold water in a large pitcher. Cover and refrigerate for 8–12 hours. Remove the tea bags without squeezing. The tea should be smooth, clean, and never grassy.
  2. Infuse Cardamom & Lemon Zest
Add the lightly crushed cardamom pods and the lemon zest strip to the cold brew tea. Let infuse for 10–12 minutes only, just until a soft, aromatic lift develops. Remove both immediately — longer contact adds bitterness and medicinal notes.
  3. Sweeten Lightly
Stir in 1½ tablespoons of honey until fully dissolved. Taste and add up to ½ tablespoon more only if needed. This drink should stay dry and aromatic, not sweet.
  4. Chill
Refrigerate for 1 hour to fully integrate flavors.
  5. Serve
Fill glasses with ice, pour over the chilled cold brew green tea, and garnish with optional lemon peel twists.

*Notes

  • Use whole cardamom only. Ground cardamom will ruin this drink.
  • Cardamom contact time must be short. If it tastes medicinal, you failed.
  • Lemon zest is aroma only, not flavor. One strip is enough.
  • Honey is a controller, not a sweetener. If you taste honey, you overdid it.
  • Best enjoyed within 24 hours for clean aromatics.
